AttachmentScannerPlugin for Mail.app in beta on Leopard
There is now a beta version of the AttachmentScannerPlugin for Mail.app on Leopard. This version has received only limited testing, which is to say that it works for me, but it might not for you. If you encounter any troubles using it, please post them in the comments.
If you haven’t installed any other plugins in Mail under Leopard, you’ll need to run the following commands in Terminal:
% defaults write com.apple.mail BundleCompatibilityVersion 3 % defaults write com.apple.mail EnableBundles -bool yes
Then put the ASPLeopard.mailbundle file in ~/Library/Mail/Bundles (you might need to create that folder if it does not already exist).

Works great so far! Thanks for the plug-in and the quick turn around making it Leopard compatible. Do you have an Amazon wish list?

Hi Larry,
Thanks for the kind words!
Your thanks is more than enough. If you really insist, I do have an Amazon wishlist, but there’s really no need.
Cheers!
James

Nice one, if only all the other mail plug-ins I used had been updated so quickly.
I had a little trouble initially using the instruction on the main page and setting compatibilty to 2, once I saw that you had changed this to 3 on this page, it worked perfectly.
Thanks again.
Mark

Hi,
I love your small little app. Unfortunately, on Tiger it simply does nothing for me. Installed it in dem Bundles, folder, even re-typed the two commands in the terminal, just nothing happens.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Jens

Hi Jens,
This updated version won’t run on Tiger. Please make extra sure that you’re using the “tiger” download link to get the plugin.
Also, for Tiger, you’ll need to run this command in the Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.mail BundleCompatibilityVersion 2I hope that helps!

Hmm. When I try to run the two Terminal commands, I get this:
-bash: fg: %: no such job
I put the bundle in the proper location in my Library, but it doesn’t work. Any ideas?

Never mind. I was including the “%” in the Terminal commands, which doesn’t work. Leaving the % off it works great. Thanks!
