My original stepfiles created exclusively for StepMania (though I have included DWIs, mainly because A: StepMania saves in SM and DWI formats simultaneously, and, B: I don't think those fine chaps who might use Dance With Intensity should be left out, even though I don't, and won't, use it myself). There aren't many up now, but I'm actually working on quite a few, so, expect to see more in the future. If I get enough feedback, who knows what might be in the works?

Ai (Chuu Seishin)
BPM:
120.777
Difficulties: 1/2/5/8/9

Main theme of the Excel Saga TV show, I liked this song from the first time I heard it. It's just funky. I took the long version of this and trimmed it down instead of simply stealing the TV-length intro version, because the end of the long version incorporates some cool parts which had great DDR potential. (As you'll see with the Heavy and Oni steps especially.) Just watch out for the pauses. Update 5/11/04: New background file.

Force Your Way
BPM: 175
Difficulties: 1/2/5/7

Yes indeed, 'tis the boss battle theme from FINAL FANTASY VIII. My friend requested this one, thinking it would make a good simfile. Reluctant, I took up the challenge. ... turns out he was rather right. Heavy only rates a seven, yet I've found it to be extremely fun. Watch out for the massive freezes, though; if you're not used to those green bars, you might find yourself in a spot of trouble... some weird twists and turns to be had, as well. Enjoy.

P.P.R.
BPM:
178
Difficulties: 3/6/9

One of my favorites from GuitarFreaks and DrumMania, I hadn't so far seen a stepfile made for this great song. It's not very long (the mp3 is only 1:16), but it's still a very fun dance on pretty much any difficulty (though Heavy definitely earns its 9-foot rating -- you can see why for yourself near the end). Very nearly perfectly synced; I've gotten a AAA on Standard. One of my best simfiles, period.

PARANOiA Millennium
BPM:
100

Difficulties: 1/4/6/9

A slow, relaxing remix of that age old Dance Dance Revolution classic, PARANOiA, by Maeda Naoki under various numerical pseudonyms. Its slow speed has probably kept it from having steps made to it, until now, I assume. Don't be fooled by the low bpm count. You'll need a speed mod on the Heavy steps, I guarantee it. Update 5/11/04: Slightly modified Heavy steps.

Raumpatrouille (Drop That Space!)
BPM:
138
Difficulties: 3/6/8

Here's a little bit of club techno for y'all. Very fun Light and Standard steps combined with technically challenging Heavy steps (think Twilight Zone, but not as tough -- enter the realm of half-gallops). I was kind of lazy in that I didn't make Beginner steps, even though it was more than possible with this one; Oni would have been befuddling to try and make (paddable) steps for.

ska a go go (Get The Funk Out Mix)
BPM: 170
Difficulties: 5/6/9

NEW! 5/13/04:
From BeatMania Core Remix, this awesome "skacore" remix of the original ska a go go will be certain the tear the funk out of your dance mat, at least on Heavy! Much tougher than the original, but much more fun - crazed runs, including the famous machine-gun ending, and an era-reminiscent slowdown are to be expected in this bad boy.

Theme of DENJIN J
BPM: 310
Difficulties: 6/8/10

NEW! 5/12/04: One of the toughest songs in IIDX is now a paddable stepfile to keep MAX-level players happy. I'm not pleased with the background, since it's just a mockup till I can find a good picture of Denjin J himself. Apart from that, a medium-level Heavy 10, probably as hard as MAX 300, if a little tougher; I'd say it's on the same page as PARANOIA survivor MAX Heavy; Standard is about as hard as Across the nightmare Heavy, and Light is... light. Enjoy!
