The Main Laire

You step into the near center of the Laire, gazing around you. Where once brilliant walls of rainbow marble shimmered with the elegance of the ages, now the rock is dim and almost lifeless. The darkness is consuming, reaching to wrap around your shoulders and mystify you. A nearby candle flickers, then levitates to illuminate a humanoid face, quite unexpected in this realm of dragons. Long mahogany hair falls across her features as she smiles, moving closer to you. Light catches on the multitude of earrings lining her slightly pointed ears and her crimson robes, flaring when she stops to light even more candles. "Greetings, " she purrs. "I am the Laire's Keeper. I have no real name, " she considers before you can ask, "But those who know me best call me Mouse." Her hands flit, and soon a fire rages inside a ring of stones far too heavy for any human to carry. "As you may know, here once lived a dragoness of gentile stature, a healer, a lover. She has passed on now, to tend her family in less inhabited regions of time, and left her laire in my care for the day she will return." Mouse peers around the cavern, almost sorrowfully. "I apologize for the state of the place, but it is so awfully hard for one to keep a dragon's laire spotless. Perhaps thou would care to explore her cave? It is filled with many wonders that even I cannot fathom.." Mouse lifts a candle again, handing it to you while her other hand waves towards the walls, and torches light the passageways leading out the main laire, pecularities in their shape and structure catching your eye..
